The UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, one of the top ranked public health schools in the nation, is comprised of eight academic units led and supported by the Dean's Office and other large, centrally administrated school units. We have an enrolled student body of over 1600, taught by approximately 230 permanent faculty, and >100 adjunct and visiting faculty. The staff includes over 600 personnel of various types (including students, research staff and temporary workers) who help to achieve the teaching, research and service missions of the School and also to assist with compliance, finance, IT, fundraising and communication. The Research, Innovation@Gillings, and Global units empower Gillings faculty members, students and staff to solve local and global health problems through research, innovation and practice.
This position will support the 3 units, Research, Innovation@Gililngs, and Global, that are collocated in suite 104. The incumbent is expected to work effectively and collaboratively with other administrative staff in the Dean's Office and across the Central Administrative Units of the School.
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
This position requires the following: advanced proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office programs, including MS Outlook calendaring and PowerPoint. Must be able to multi-task. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. High integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Capacity to perform in the fast-paced, high-profile, complex environment of a public university. Excellent judgment and people skills; commitment to customer service. Understanding and sensitivity to diversity and cultural differences; ability to work effectively with diverse individuals from multicultural settings.
Prefer BS/BA and experience in public health. Prefer experience in global health administration.
