Position Details:


Summary of Duties:

The Division of Student Affairs is recruiting for a new position to provide student support services in Yakima, WA.

 

The Yakima Student Affairs Specialist is responsible for the operation of Yakima Student Affairs which collaborates with the Spokane office on financial, access services, tutoring, student organizations, and health services. The position collaborates with the Nursing and Pharmacy programs to provide excellent service to students. It is also responsible for managing the p-card and its reconciliation along with processing travel grants.

 

Depending on the finalist's qualifications and experience, the position could either be a Program Specialist 2 or a Program Coordinator.

 


Qualifications:

To qualify for the Program Specialist 2 title the finalist must meet the below requirements:


  • A Bachelor's degree OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Specialty:  Two years of professional experience in student financial aid, higher education enrollment, or student accommodation processes.  

  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office including Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and positively in a diverse team environment.

 

To qualify for the Program Coordinator title the finalist must meet the below requirements:


  • High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Specialty:  Two years of professional experience in student financial aid, higher education enrollment, or student accommodation processes.  

  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office including Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and positively in a diverse team environment.

 

The preferred qualifications for the position are:


  • Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgment and leadership, including the ability to work independently.

  • Experience in a higher education environment.

Salary:



  • Program Specialist 2: Range 42. $3,294.00 - $4,286.00.


  • Program Coordinator: Range 38. $2,999.00 - $3,887.00

  • Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 or applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This is a Permanent position.
