Job Description:




The School of Management at Binghamton University (State University of New York) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Accounting starting mid-August 2025, subject to budgetary approval.




The teaching component (2 + 2) requires delivering required/elective courses in Accounting at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Faculty are expected to participate in curriculum development and assessment, and engage in other service duties for the school and the college, both internally and externally, and contribute to the intellectual environment of the area. To support faculty research, the school provides summer funding for the first three years of service and subscriptions to WRDS and other standard databases.




The School of Management (SOM) at Binghamton University and the Accounting Program have received separate AACSB accreditations and is nationally recognized for its success in developing future business leaders. The School offers bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. programs. SOM consistently ranks among the top 50 best undergraduate business schools, best colleges for business majors (Money), and the top business schools in the country for best value (Poets & Quants, PayScale). The accounting faculty have a consistent record of scholarly achievement with faculty publications appearing in The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, Behavioral Research in Accounting and Journal of Management Accounting Research.

Requirements:




Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Accounting, a Ph.D. in Management with a concentration in Accounting, or will have completed all degree requirements before the academic year obligation start date of August 18, 2025. High quality research as evidenced by publication in the top-tier accounting journals is expected as well as high quality teaching in the classroom.





Preferred Qualification: Candidates have the ability and willingness to teach taxation.
