General Purpose
The Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategies in support of PacifiCorp’s overall business plan and strategic direction. The Vice President is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing strategic goals.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and vision to ensure that HR practices align with the organization’s long-term mission and goals.
Develop HR plans and strategies to support achievement of the company’s overall business objectives.
Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, labor relations, payroll, retention, training, leadership development, compensation, and benefits. Hire, guide and evaluate the work of HR executives and staff.
Assess the effectiveness of HR operations, policies and procedures using metrics and analytics; develop and execute strategies for improvement
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations and requirements. Promote equal opportunity and diversity within the organization.
Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues.
Establish strategy for collective bargaining negotiations and may lead negotiations if necessary.
Collaborate with the company’s executive management to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company.
Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet human capital needs and diversity goals.
Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
A minimum of 10 years of directly related professional experience.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in people management.
Extensive HR business partnering/leading experience within a multi-disciplinary team and complex environment.
Strong experience in HR operational delivery including talent recruitment and development.
Strong experience in Compensation and Benefits.
Strong collaborator and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
Excellent track record of delivering change initiatives and improvements positively affecting customer service and employee engagement.
Experience in facilitation and training delivery.
Strong leadership skills and ability to manage others.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
Effective time management combined with excellent organizational and planning skills.
Ability to constantly review and juggle priorities against a backdrop of emerging operational activities or change in requirements with a keen eye for attention to detail.
Demonstrate sound and effective judgment and decision-making to ensure fairness and consistent application of HR policies and practice.
Possess a high degree of self-awareness and draw on this knowledge to build, maintain and positively influence internal and external stakeholders.
Support true business partnering and demonstrate experience in building and developing constructive relationships with different trade unions.
