As a WIC Certifier, your tasks will include:
Educating clients about the WIC program and benefits and assessing eligibility
Conducting health evaluations and providing nutrition recommendations and counseling
Referring clients to other services as needed and maintaining accurate records
Providing customer service and community outreach while ensuring quality assurance and compliance with regulatory standards
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Experience:
One year of customer service experience is required. An associate's degree may replace experience.
Experience in reception, nutrition education, working with children/infants, or being a previous WIC certifier or educator is a plus!
Licenses/Certificates/Registration:
Medical Assistant – Registered required. Certificate obtained within one year's employment.
WIC Certification is required once the training period is completed
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required at level 9 to receive bilingual differential pay
Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills
Ability to prioritize work and handle various tasks simultaneously, with frequent interruptions
Ability to effectively and professionally interact with women, caregivers, infants, children, and staff
General knowledge in culturally appropriate practice
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records.
Knowledge about basic nutrition concepts desired
