Job Description:

Join us at AstraZeneca as an Associate Director, Data, Analytics & AI Lead in our Enabling Units IT group. This role focuses on Assurance Insight and Global Payment Transparency. You will have the opportunity to use your expertise in data, analytics, and AI to drive the development and deployment of innovative solutions that enhance our capabilities in these critical business areas.


In this role, you will build strong strategic relationships with sophisticated customer groups and senior partners, developing a deep understanding of the short-term and long-term business direction. You will assess and prioritize requirements in line with IT strategy, develop and maintain the customer account plan, manage a portfolio of investments, lead high-level investigations on requirements specifications and feasibility studies, and lead business impact assessments. You will also proactively see opportunities for IT to deliver innovative technology solutions to provide competitive advantage. You will work multi-functionally with:


  • Business and IT leadership teams and other senior partners to build their understanding of IT strategy, programs and challenges


  • IT Strategy, Architecture, Portfolio Management and Project/Program Management to agree the future shape of proposed solutions and initiate projects in partnership


  • Other customer area Business Relationship Managers to create alignment and identify cross-business innovative opportunities


  • Business analysts to manage requirements and build business cases


  • Portfolio Managers and solution delivery leads to initiate projects, clearly define scope and monitor the delivery of project value compared to the promised benefits


  • Customer Service function to ensure the IT services plans are established for the customer group and are operating effectively




Required Skills/Experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree


  • 7+ years of meaningful experience


  • Experience in Cloud technologies like AWS (EC2, S3, EMR, IAM, ECS, RDS, Redshift, Machine Learning/Sagemaker), Snowflake


  • Expertise in handling large scale Data Warehouse, Snowflake, Star Schemas


  • Expertise in ETL Tools (Talend, FriveTran, DBT) and Databases (Redshift, Oracle, SQL Server)


  • Experience in and knowledge of bio-pharma industry - Compliance/Regulatory/Transparency Reporting


  • Evidence of leading and developing innovative solutions


  • A proven track record of delivering results


  • Experience of building high value business cases & mobilizing high value investments


  • Experience of leading teams with a demonstrable track record of motivational, results oriented leadership


  • Experience leading third party supplier relationships with strong networking and consulting skills


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills


  • High level awareness of developments in the Information Technology marketplace


  • Demonstrated relationship building skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives


  • Proficiency in planning, change management and problem solving with the ability to resolve highly complex and strategic issues


  • Demonstrable ability to relate and respond to business needs in an IT environment


  • Ability to lead negotiations, expectations and solutions across complex groups
