Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Production Manager to join our team. Reporting to the VP of Operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our plant and manufacturing equipment run efficiently, meeting all production and direct labor goals. You will also be responsible for training production staff and maintaining a high standard of health and safety.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of production. Plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee manufacturing operations, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs.
  • Maintain detailed downtime reports and develop action plans to improve efficiency; implement TPM program in the Manufacturing department.
  • Support all shifts as needed and coordinate vacations and time off for direct reports and maintain shift schedule by area based on production demand.
  • Collaborate closely with Safety, Quality, Maintenance, Scheduling, Supply Chain, LEAN, and HR teams to optimize performance and meet production goals.
  • Ensure all production staff are fully trained in equipment and safety procedures, using a Skillset Matrix to identify training needs and build a cross-functional team across all shifts.
  • Implement in process inspection requirements considering best practice.
  • Drive organizational change by implementing lean management programs, including Kaizen events and the Continuous Improvement Program.
  • Promote a safe work environment and ensure team compliance with all safety and environmental rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage daily production activities to meet targets and customer demands in assigned areas.
  • Maintain performance metrics and KPIs to monitor operational performance, identify improvement areas, and drive process optimization initiatives.
  • Implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve productivity across assigned manufacturing areas.
  • Create department presentations for management as needed.
  • Monitor and correct labor tickets.
  • Validate daily cost of sales data and correct allocation as needed.
  • Lead a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, spearheading initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate supervisors and production staff, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the use of standard operating procedures and create/revise SOP’s, tools, and metrics to ensure successful and consistent operations.
  • Provide effective leadership in manufacturing operations, including responsibilities in EHS, employee engagement, and achieving production goals in alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and maintenance, to support process improvements and strategic initiatives.

Job Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Custom manufacturing environments preferred.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience with industrial machines such as CNC, Plasma COBOT welding.
  • 5+ years’ experience in pick&pack and store assembly.
  • Line balancing, cycle time, OEE, and TPM experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience with ERP system such as Visual, SAP, CSI.
  • Experience with job routings and processing documents, including time studies.
  • Lean implementation and plant re-arrange hands on experience.
  • The ability to prioritize various tasks, communicate technical information through written and verbal means
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
  • Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations
  • Project management skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Proficient in using Microsoft application and general PC knowledge.
