Structural Designer - Buildings/Commercial Sector


Location: Hybrid in Plymouth, MN


As a Structural Technician/Designer, you will be instrumental in developing detailed layout plans, sections, and details adhering to established CAD protocols. Your keen eye for detail will be crucial in identifying and rectifying redlines on existing drawings. You will oversee the maintenance of plotting equipment and manage project documentation archives. Additionally, your role may involve occasional travel to construction sites to ensure seamless project execution.



Responsibilities:

  • Guide and delegate tasks to Technicians, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  
  
  • Conduct thorough reviews and quality checks of Technicians' work.
  
  
  • Facilitate coordination among design team members and liaise with product suppliers.
  
  
  • Engage with clients and contractors to address RFI's and field inquiries.
  
  
  • Keep a pulse on project finances and drafting timelines, recognizing opportunities for additional services.
  
  
  • Examine shop drawings for compliance and accuracy.
  
  
  • Participate in both internal and external coordination meetings to maintain project alignment.
  
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• A certificate in construction-related design/drafting or equivalent with at least three years of pertinent experience, or a total of four years of experience in the field.
