The Director of Asset Allocation Research is responsible for leading the research initiatives that inform the organization's asset allocation strategy. This role involves analyzing economic trends, market conditions, and investment opportunities to provide insights that guide portfolio construction and risk management.
Job Responsibilities:
Define and implement the research agenda for asset allocation, focusing on identifying key drivers of returns and risks across asset classes and sub asset classes.
Stay abreast of macroeconomic trends, market dynamics, and regulatory developments to inform strategic asset allocation decisions.
Utilize quantitative models and statistical analysis to evaluate the performance of various asset classes and investment strategies.
Develop and maintain proprietary research tools to support asset allocation analysis and decision-making.
Work closely with portfolio managers and investment teams to ensure research insights are integrated into asset allocation processes.
Provide ongoing support for investment decision-making by delivering timely and relevant research findings.
Lead and mentor research analysts, fostering a culture of curiosity, rigor, and collaboration.
Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills in quantitative analysis and investment research.
Prepare and present comprehensive research reports and presentations to senior management and investment committees.
Clearly communicate research findings, implications for asset allocation, and recommendations for portfolio adjustments.
Publish research papers, white papers, and market commentary to establish the organization as a thought leader in asset allocation.
Engage with industry peers and participate in conferences to share insights and build relationships.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including risk management, compliance, and strategy teams, to ensure alignment with overall investment goals.
Engage with external consultants and research providers to enhance the organization's research capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field; CFA, MBA or advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in investment research, asset allocation, or quantitative analysis, with a strong track record in a similar role.
Must have expertise in financial modeling, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
Must have strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in research tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Excel).
Must have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Must have proven leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing a research team.
Must have the ability to think critically and strategically in a fast-paced environment.
May require occasional travel for conferences and industry events.
