Manager of Sales, West Coast Territory

Medical Device Industry-Women’s Health

Travel up to 60%

Must reside in a western state in the territory

Salary starts at $120K base plus $55K commission

We are hiring a Manager of Sales, who is experienced in the medical device industry, leading others in hospital sales. This position will be responsible for a portfolio of products used in the NICU and Maternal Care for women’s health.

The territory is the western states in the U.S.

Key Skills and Capabilities


  • Experienced in medical device sales and the sales cycle within the hospital ecosystem.

  • Experienced and understands the call points in hospitals

  • Focuses team efforts on key accounts with cross-functional specialist teams (NICU Specialists, Enteral Feeding Specialists, National Account-IDN Teams).

  • Manages quotas and drives to a number and exceeds it.

  • A medical device sales leader who is skilled in leading and coaching a sales team.

  • Motivates and creates support and excitement for new initiatives.

  • Sets sales goals and manages performance against goals.

  • Develops complex proposals and approving unique packages.

Education and Critical Skills - Manager of Sales, Medical Device


  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university is required.  Major in Marketing or Business Administration preferred

  • Successful selling experience of at least 3 years required in Medical Device / Hospitals

  • Successful direct sales managerial experience of at least 3 years required

  • Ability to travel 60% of the time, occasionally internationally

  • Strong computer and internet skills; software experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Keep timely records and manage all customer activities including call reports and follow-up through company CRM software Salesforce

  • Experience with SAP and Salesforce.com will be considered an additional asset

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities

  • Experience working in an environment with global objectives

Employee must meet vendor credentialing/compliance demands of accounts within given territory.  This includes but not limited to: RepTrax, VendorMate, Status Blue, VCS, etc.  For patient/customer safety purposes as part of the vendor credentialing process, Employee must satisfy account’s drug screening requirements, including but not limited to screening for marijuana use, regardless if use of marijuana is legal under applicable state law.  For more information, please refer to the Drug and Alcohol Workplace Policy.
