POSITION OVERVIEW

The Account Receivables Specialist is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the credit and collections team, ensuring that all processes are executed efficiently and in alignment with company policies and financial goals. This role involves monitoring customer accounts, assessing credit risk, implementing collection strategies, and supporting the development of credit procedures. The Assistant Credit Manager will work closely with internal teams, including Sales, Finance, and Operations, to manage credit risk, ensure timely payments, and resolve credit-related issues. This is a leadership position that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to mentor and guide a team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support a culture that promotes safety as a top priority while ensuring compliance with all federal, state and company regulatory policies and procedures.
• Manage company collections and credit efforts.
• Monitor, collect, and forecast portfolio of accounts receivable balances of specific key accounts and high-risk customers.
• Partner with both sales and operations personnel in the collections process to implement actions to optimize collection efforts.
• Ensure company collection rights are secured by promptly filing bond claims or liens as necessary and working with outside attorneys on legal matters providing guidance on settlement options, as well as working with management regarding recommendations on these issues.
• Analyze credit information determining risk, prepare research, review credit applications, and communicate results of credit analysis and summary of credit requests to management.
• Demonstrate, promote, and ensure an outstanding level of service to internal and external customers.
• Maintain up to date customer account information, including credit data, status of pending payments and account restrictions, and reports regularly to appropriate management.
• Ensure credit practices, policies and controls are established and maintained by team members.
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with diverse individuals, groups and teams including both internal and external customers to manage credit risk and aged accounts.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
• At least three years of progressive experience in credit and collections, ideally within a multi-state business or construction materials-related industry.
• Proven experience in managing a credit and collections team, with strong leadership skills and the ability to guide and motivate employees.
• Leadership abilities, excellent organizational skills, and the capability to make sound decisions while managing key accounts.
• Familiarity with bond claims and lien filings, particularly within the construction or materials industries.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements and legal documents, offering insights for business decisions.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, with experience using Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and industry peers.
Other Requirements:
• Travel required. 20% - 25% as needed.
