Job Description:

The Employee Engagement Specialist will play a key role in fostering a positive and engaging work environment for faculty and staff. This individual will develop and implement strategies to promote faculty and staff engagement, enhance job satisfaction, and improve organizational culture across academic, clinical, and administrative units. The Employee Engagement Specialist will collaborate with leadership, faculty, staff, and stakeholders to create programs that promote belonging, campus engagement, and professional development opportunities, driving a positive work experience across all departments and units.


Duties:



  • Designs and develops communication for new faculty and staff hires, as well as hiring managers, regarding new employee orientation, onboarding cycle, and new employee training that includes opportunities for engagement.

  • Develops, coordinates and evaluates customized programming, communication, event management, logistics, and budgets for Employee Engagement initiatives and commitments including Employee Recognition such as faculty/staff celebrations, faculty and staff engagement events, and other milestones.

  • Participates in designing and implementing a variety of reward and recognition programs and fostering employee engagement and creating positive work experiences and environment in coordination with administration.

  • Analyzes feedback data and develops clear, well-organized, and meaningful reports and presentations that identify trends and areas for improvement in employee engagement initiatives.

  • Develops communication materials to promote employee engagement programs, opportunities, and initiatives.

  • Assists in designing and conducting training sessions and workshops to educate employees and managers on the importance of employee engagement and recognition.

  • Provides ongoing coordination of and support for in-person and hybrid engagement initiatives and events; meet and greets; and other employee engagement events.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, communications, or related field, AND:



  • 3 years of experience in employee engagement, human resources, or a related within a healthcare or academic environment.


Skills:



  • Strong understanding of employee engagement best practices, including survey design, program development and implementation, and performance metrics.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies, employee groups, and stakeholders

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems

  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines

  • Ability to build a positive work experience across all departments and units.


Advertised Physical Requirements:



  • Primarily office-based with some travel to other locations for employee engagement.

  • Use of a computer and telephone.

  • Ability to engage in repetitive motion.

  • Lift and carry at least 25 lbs.

  • Able to pull or push objects with upper and lower body.

  • Must be able to reach above head or stoop down.
