Summary: This position is responsible for leading the Demand Planning Team in the creation of future demand forecasts through a combination of market analysis, statistical modeling projections, and collaboration with the entire organization in support of the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. This position will own the forecast which guides production planning, deployment planning, financial targeting, procurement, and distribution requirement targets for the Enterprise. This position is critical to Enterprise decision making in support of billions of pounds of finished good sales with direct impact to revenue and margin, facilitating robust conversations with business leadership to optimize decision making and improve stockholder value for Tyson Foods. This is a leadership position with direct management of Demand Planners across Poultry & Prepared Foods.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage team of Demand Planners engaged in the buildout of the rolling 27-month forecast for a complex and highly visible businesses within SAP IBP
Responsible for maintaining Forecast Accuracy results and supporting related fill rate and distress metrics
Facilitate a robust monthly S&OP process, preparing content and hosting meetings with BU Owners, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Pricing, Production Planning, and other Supply Chain partners with a focus on continuous improvement
Execute weekly analysis and reporting on demand performance, providing critical intelligence on business history, trends, and future assumptions
Act as Demand/S&OP process champion in cross-functional meetings; influencing participants towards process adherence, adoption, and maturity
Lead adoption and training on new technology and process improvements for the team, working directly with leadership, IT, and business partners
Provide direct leadership and support for team members as a subject matter expert for all things demand planning, for the businesses we support
Lead, coordinate and facilitate process and tool enhancements to drive continuous improvement of S&OP and forecast performance
Qualifications:
Education: BS degree required; MS degree preferred
Experience: 5 + years relevant experience
Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills are necessary
Strong organization skills and ability to effectively multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment is required.
Experience working with a large national manufacturer / distributor in key supply chain topics like Demand, Inventory, Distribution, and Production is strongly preferred
Travel: Minimal
Strong computer skills and technical aptitude required
