Job Summary

The Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates project activities, acting as primary customer contact and ensuring project goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and budget.

Essential Job Functions


  • Coordinate DFM and process development activities with supplier, operations and subject matter experts.
  • Lead customer facing communications for projects inclusive of accepting commercial team hand off, customer/project team meeting leadership, scope and/or delay communication management, and identification of customer timeliness of inputs to keep projects on track.
  • Actively participate in the generation of project proposals and associated timelines.
  • Partner with commercial team in communicating project proposals and securing new business.
  • Leverage sourcing and commodity functions to integrate cost and performance advantages.
  • Gather customer requirements alongside key account management and develop project scope documents inclusive of customer responsibilities matrix completion.
  • Develop comprehensive project timelines including identification of key risks and communicate plans to internal and customer teams.
  • Delegate project tasks to appropriate functions best suited to complete in conjunction with SME management.
  • Coach project team members as necessary to meet project objectives.
  • Act as a conduit between SME disciplines to assure seamless execution of project objectives.
  • Work directly with procurement to assure project materials are identified and ordered in a timely fashion.
  • Maintaining project schedules and timelines through proactive management of risks.
  • Escalate project timeline and cost risks to senior management and develop multiple alternate plans with site project disciplines to minimize impact to project success.
  • In conjunction with SME leaders evaluate SME loading and make recommendations to management.
  • Monitor and report project spending against project plan, maintain project budget, routinely report out adherence to budgets and communicate identified risks.
  • Engage with stakeholders from site engineering, manufacturing, quality and purchasing teams required for successful project execution.
Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Project and Excel) required.
  • Demonstrated consistent successful performance on large size projects OR multiple medium size projects concurrently.
  • Significant capability in managing a cross functional project team.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in business management or mechanical engineering required.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a related industry.
  • PMP certification or equivalent training preferred.
  • Development experience in Medical Device preferred.
  • Certification in a recognized Lean or Six Sigma Program preferred.

Compensation

Salary Minimum: $110,000

Salary Maximum: $130,000
