The Contracts Department is responsible for leading 'cradle-to-grave' contract review, negotiation, and administration activities supporting SwRI's technical divisions.
Objectives of this Role:
Transactional attorney providing legal advice on research contracts in a high volume, deadline-driven environment.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
Review research contracts for terms and conditions; provide legal analysis of issues; provide legal advice and guidance on conflict of interest issues; support the negotiation of contract terms and conditions.
Research legal issues; develop and conduct educational programs and write correspondence and other documents related to transactional and conflict of interest matters; prepare contract templates.
Provide legal position on contract risks to Executive Management and Institute staff. Coordinate with General Counsel as needed.
Requirements:
Requires a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree with license to practice law in the state of Texas and a membership in the State of Texas Bar Association.
2 years: Legal experience in the area of contractual matters. Government contracting experience is a plus.
A valid/clear driver's license is required.
Special Requirements:
Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
