Position Summary | The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at Portland State University (PSU) seeks outstanding candidates for a Non-Tenure Track Faculty (NTTF) Assistant Professor of Practice in Embedded Systems. This teaching position focuses teaching in both undergraduate and graduate courses in a broad range of ECE topics with a focus on embedded systems. This 1.0 FTE 9-month teaching appointment will typically be responsible for teaching two 4-credit courses each quarter, fall, winter and spring. Additional responsibilities include service to the department, college, or university, and supervision of up to two capstone teams per year. This role requires the incumbent to be able to teach in person in downtown Portland and Hillsboro during weekdays and evenings. This position is focused on instructional responsibilities but may include supporting scholarly activities and service to the community and profession. |

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement | Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity. The starting annual salary for this position will be $95,000 based upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
