The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $50.96 - $63.71 per hour.
Location Note
The position will be located at our Barnstable, MA office with regular field work in Martha's Vineyard, MA.
Job Summary
The Lead High Voltage Engineering role will support Site Operations to implement the agreed site operations and maintenance strategy through the planning and execution operational activity across the wind farm ensuring safe, efficient operations that are in compliance with relevant statutory/legislative requirements and Company policies/procedures is achieved.
Responsible for ensuring that operational, safety switching, and electrical/mechanical isolation of HV & LV assets is performed in accordance with the clients Electrical Safety Rules.
Have the responsibilities for executing the operation & maintenance management program, including performing inspections, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, fault analysis, performing remote operations and documentation preparation.
Job Duties
Execute safe operations on managed onshore and offshore transmission assets, including but not limited to:
Preparing, issuing, and cancelling safety documents as part of safe system of work
Carrying out switching, isolation and earthing duties
Preparing switching schedules
As needed act as control engineer, providing remote monitoring and control operations
Provide oversight and safety observation of contractor works
Conduct pre-job briefings and assure work is performed in accordance with method statements and risk assessments
Perform planned and unplanned maintenance activities on HV electrical equipment and associated protection and control systems
Perform work in accordance with relevant procedures, processes and technical literature
Efficiently troubleshoot, perform corrective actions, fault identification and data collection for abnormal system conditions
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
7-10 years of operation and commissioning experience within the field of high voltage electricity, Maritime experience preferable
Experience with GIS & AIS substations, HV electrical apparatus, advanced protection and control systems and electrical testing equipment utilized in substation operations
Appropriate electrical qualification and background related to the authorization scope for 220kv or above
Up to date or willingness to acquire GWO and HUET with CA-EB
Knowledge and understanding of interface software and digital solutions for equipment operation
Must be flexible with regard to working patterns
