Job description and requirements
We are currently looking for a Data Scientist who will be responsible for modeling complex organization problems, discovering insights and identifying opportunities for growth using statistical techniques, algorithmic, mining and visualization. You will work collaboratively with functional areas of the business to develop/adjust business processes that will support analytics research within a marketing framework. You will also engage stakeholders to understand informational pain points and drive analytics solutions that address them.
Leverage data mining, statistics, and analytical techniques to identify opportunities for growth.
Analyze large volumes of both structured and unstructured datasets from internal and external sources.
Business Analytical Cycle (i-e Study Design, Hypothesis formulation, Sampling Methods, Analytical Methodologies, Data Modeling, Tools selection, Required Data sets).
Meaningful Visualizations (Dashboards, Histogram, Scatterplot, SG Plots, Heat Maps, etc.).
ETL of PoS transactional data. Data Cleaning, Data Security, Data Privacy, Data life Cycle.
Be able to quantify the impact of marketing decisions using A/B testing.
Experimental Design (Control, Randomize, Replicate, Block).
Segmentation, Cluster Analysis.
Distil data into findings and prepare results for presentation to senior management.
Formulation of Machine Learning Algorithm/workflows.
Trend Analysis, Time Series Modeling.
Classification and Regression Trees, Association Analysis, Predictive, Casual, and Descriptive Analysis, Distribution Analysis, Optimization Analysis.
Demographics Analysis, Media Profile by geographical Region/Unit.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, or mathematics. Master’s degree, an asset
Minimum three (3) years of related industry experience in working with data and providing analytics
Proven experience with data science tools such as Alteryx, SQL, SPSS, SAS, R, Python, Tableau
Knowledge in leveraging one or more of the following statistical tools: R, SPSS, and/or SAS
Knowledge of Big Data ecosystem tools (e.g., Hive, Pig, Spark) and Knowledge with NoSQL databases (e.g., HBase, Cassandra)
Working experience in Micro strategy, Teradata, querying relational databases
An understanding of geographic information systems
Teleworking in hybrid mode
