Volt is immediately hiring for a Corrugated Maintenance Mechanic in Fort Worth, TX.
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will:
Be responsible for supporting the maintenance lead in the execution, planning and scheduling of work requests to maintain the facility and production equipment.
Support in the maintenance department's goal of a safe and hazard free work environment.
Support the execution of corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance work orders as planned and directed by the Maintenance Lead.
Observe mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Perform plant startup tasks, energizing all equipment and ensuring operation.
Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Utilize computer for work order entry and completion status.
Clean work area, tools, and equipment.
Install and repair mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, belts, and couplings.
Support operations efficiency through troubleshooting and maintaining manufacturing equipment and processes.
Work safely by observing safety rules, policies, and procedures and identifying unsafe conditions or actions to the supervisor.
This is a Full-time,Direct Hire opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
Associate's degree in electrical and/or mechanical technology.
Prior maintenance experience in the packaging industry with focus on converting/corrugating equipment.
3 years' industry experience (facility, large equipment electrical and mechanical). Previous experience in a paperboard converting facility a plus.
Excellent leadership communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Experience troubleshooting and can demonstrate: Electrical schematics, Mechanical systems, PLCs, HVAC, Air Compressors, Hydraulic systems and paperboard converting systems based on previous experience.
Working knowledge of transfer systems, including conveyors, lifts, turntables, and chain drives.
Working knowledge of fluid transfer systems including air and electric pumps, mechanical, pneumatic, and electric shutoffs, flow control sensors, pressure sensors, and temperature sensors.
Working knowledge of Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems, including, reading schematics, installation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
Basic fabrication skills include understanding assembly instructions, using tape a measure, calipers, dial indicators. operating power hand tools including drills, grinders, sanders, drill presses, etc.
Working knowledge of power transmissions systems including gear drives, 3-phase motors, servo motors, hydraulic motors, and pneumatic motors.
Basic computer and email skills.
Ability to work overtime as necessary with limited advance notice.
Salary: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour.
