As the Director of Corporate Communications, you will report to the SVP of Marketing & Communications and play a pivotal role in partnering with the Executive and Senior Leadership team across Montrose to develop and transform our global communications strategy. Through our Montrose communications plan, we aim to continue fostering connectivity, inclusion, and cohesion across our organization, enabling our global employee base and key stakeholders to remain informed and engaged as we scale and grow.


In this role, you will work cross-functionally and collaboratively across our organization to craft and deliver communications that are aligned with our Montrose vision. You should expect and be motivated with domestic and/or international travel to meet with your global operational teams, for whom your communications, programs and solutions are intended.


Our preference is for this role to be based in Irvine, CA; Denver, CO; Raleigh-Durham, NC; Dallas, TX; or Houston, TX, but we are open to remote applicants for this position.

A DAY IN THE LIFE




  • Lead Communications Strategy: Develop and execute a proactive, global communications strategy that highlights Montrose's strategic initiatives, keeps employees informed and engaged, and aligns with the company's growth objectives.



  • Strategic Partnering with Leadership: Collaborate closely with executive and senior leadership across Montrose to identify public relations and communications objectives. Build cohesive narratives, communication plans, and collateral that reflect these goals and influence both internal and external audiences.



  • Internal and External Communications: Serve as a strategic communications counsel to senior leaders, creating content for diverse audiences and channels to support scale and growth. Manage internal communications platforms (newsletters, intranet) and external media releases, including relationships with media outlets and agencies.



  • Stakeholder and Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner cross-functionally with departments like HR, IT, Legal, Sustainability, and Corporate Development to align communication strategies, ensuring a consistent cadence of events and messaging. Act as a liaison between Montrose and external agencies to oversee creative direction, timelines, and budgets.



  • Technology-Driven Personalization: Leverage communication technologies to personalize and deliver messages at scale, addressing the needs of Montrose's diverse, global workforce while exploring emerging communication trends and channels.



  • Content and Crisis Management: Create and maintain a content calendar for company-wide communications like Townhalls, ensuring timely distribution. Develop crisis communication strategies and handle issues as they arise, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.



  • Acquisition Integration Communications: Participate in the due diligence of prospective acquisitions and collaborate with new management teams to integrate communications strategies, ensuring a seamless transition into Montrose.



  • Investor Relations and Public Affairs: Partner with Investor Relations to assist with investor relations deliverables and any needed management of public policy. cation program effectiveness through data-driven insights. Develop strategies for continuous improvement to keep communications impactful and relevant.



  • Media Relations and Social Channels: Oversee media relations, including pitching to top-tier media outlets and engaging with trade publications. Strategically manage social media platforms and emerging digital channels to build brand presence.



NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in a communications, public relations, or related role


  • Proven ability to create compelling communications that engages, educates and inspires its audience


  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner, coach and consult with executive and senior level leaders across functions, businesses and/or countries


  • Presence, confidence, maturity and emotional intelligence


  • Demonstrated ability to lead or support large-scale communications initiatives, including assembling and directing resources to ensure timelines are met


  • Willingness and ability to handle multiple and competing priorities across different time zones and global teams


  • Ability to navigate a dynamic, fast-paced environment


  • Expert communication, project management, prioritization, and creative problem-solving skills


  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field


  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally


  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt content for different channels and audiences; AP style expertise



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS





  • Prior global communications experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field is required; a Master's degree or MBA is preferred.Prior public company experience either working directly for or via agency


  • Experience with HubSpot, Adobe, Canva, Asana, internal comms tech (Contact Monkey), PR technology (Cision, Muck Rack, Meltwater, Business Wire, etc.) is a plus
