Cambrex is looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Development Director to play a pivotal role in driving growth of our Drug Substance CDMO business. This position involves identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and developing strategic plans to achieves sales targets and expand our market presence. Position will cover US Pacific West Coast territory.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Business Development / Sales Professional will include, but not be limited to the following:
Aggressively pursue development, technical transfer, and commercial manufacturing opportunities for drug substance manufacturing
Build strong, long-term client relationships, forging new business partnerships, nurturing and qualifying leads, and maintaining high visibility within networking and trade organizations within the defined territory.
Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients and new business opportunities.
Understand industry and customer needs and actively contribute to provide solutions that will generate value for the customer.
Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, site leadership, R&D, and production, to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.
Lead the initiative to introduce new projects and business opportunities pursuant to Cambrex´s overall business strategy both at existing and new accounts.
Be a trustworthy and interactive team member who is willing to share and expand on good ideas.
Represent the company at customer visits, industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our services and capabilities.
Enter and maintain customer data within CRM (Salesforce) for client management and forecasting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related life-science degree is required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in business development, with proven track record in selling CDMO services. Experience in API, fine chemicals, and custom technologies is desired. Commercial experience in pharmaceutical or related industry is preferred.
