About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Contracts Manager with experience in Transit/BRT industries to join our team in supporting large-scale construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting Scopes of Work (SOWs), monitoring project progress, and ensuring compliance with contractual terms and regulatory requirements. This position offers the opportunity to identify and mitigate risks while maintaining clear communication with all project stakeholders. By effectively handling disputes and ensuring all work meets quality standards, you will play a vital role in the successful delivery of our projects.

This is a long term, full-time, onsite position located in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Draft Scopes of Work (SOWs), review, and negotiate changes with procurement for the project.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Review payment applications for modifications and allowance to ensure compliance with the contract.
  • Ensure the contract adheres to and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contracts.
  • Maintain clear communication with all project stakeholders, updating them on project status, and addressing any concerns.
  • Keep detailed records of all contract modifications and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Handle any disputes or issues that arise during the project, ensuring they are resolved promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure that all work meets the required quality standards and specifications.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, law, construction management, or a related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • 5+ yrs exp in contract management within the construction industry, preferably in a role representing the project owner.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to meticulously review and manage contract details to ensure compliance and minimize risks.
  • Proven experience coordinating a project management team and providing appropriate levels of support, coaching and influence.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Work, Excel, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business administration, law, construction management, or a related field.
  • Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM), or other industry recognized contracts certification.
  • Previous experience in transit industry.
  • Previous bus facility experience.

Compensation Details

The salary range listed for this role is $100k-200k annually. The final salary offered is based on multiple factors and is thoughtfully aligned with each candidates level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, etc.
