Position: Sr. Solutions Architect - Technology



Department: Information Technology



Work Location: El Paso, TX, Dallas, TX, Arlington, TN, Boston, MA, Plano, TX, Marlborough, MA, Morristown, NJ, Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)



Hybrid Schedule: Helen of Troy associates enjoy the advantages and flexibility of a hybrid working model, allowing for in office 3 days minimum, and remote 2 days. Any changes to this working model would be communicated accordingly.



What you will be doing:



Lead and collaborate with IT teams to craft, develop, and implement solutions for our enterprise applications. Ensure successful delivery of technology solutions, adhering to SDLC, change management and standard processes. Analyze business requirements, coordinate system modernization efforts, and lead project timelines and resources to achieve business objectives


  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term technology strategies aligned with business objectives.


  • Technical Leadership: Mentor and guide junior team members, encouraging a culture of innovation and excellence.


  • Complex Problem-Solving: Analyze complex business problems and craft innovative solutions.


  • Architecture Design: Craft robust and scalable enterprise architectures, including application, data, and infrastructure layers.


  • Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate potential risks to system availability and data integrity.


  • Performance Optimization: Optimize system performance and resource utilization.


  • Security and Compliance: Ensure adherence to security standards and compliance regulations.


  • Change Management: Manage changes to the IT environment, minimizing disruption to business operations.




  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Work closely with business and IT teams to achieve shared goals.







Skills needed to be successful in this role:




  • Enterprise Architecture: Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks



  • Technology Stack: Proficiency in our technologies (EBS R12, cloud platforms, Oracle databases, PL/SQL, Forms, Power Bi, Snowflake, Azure, Java, middleware).



  • Design Patterns: Knowledge of design patterns and principles to build robust and scalable solutions.



  • Data Modeling: Ability to craft data models and understand data flows.



  • Security: Understanding of security principles and best practices.



  • Performance Optimization: Knowledge of performance tuning techniques.



  • Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor teams.



  • Communication: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.



  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.



  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and align technology solutions with business goals.



  • Collaboration: Ability to work optimally with diverse teams, including business analysts, developers, and infrastructure engineers.



  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing technologies and business requirements.







Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in related profession/field.


  • 10+ years' experience in business application development.


  • 5+ years' experience managing teams.


  • 15+ years working with relational DB's using SQL/PL SQL skills


  • Expert knowledge of Oracle REST Data services


  • Experience with change management and configuration management


  • Experience with Agile development methodologies


  • Expert knowledge of Oracle Integration Cloud Platform-as-a-Service, including provisioning, connectors/adapters, REST & SOAP API's, Security and monitoring.


  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis







Preferred Qualifications:



  • Oracle knowledge: Oracle Fusion, Oracle Visual Builder, ADF and/or Application Express. Oracle e-business suite 12.1.3 or higher.


  • Sophisticated SQL/PL SQL concepts
