Sterling Crane LLC: Founded in 1954, Sterling Crane has been one of North America’s premier leaders in the heavy lift industry offering operated and bare rentals, sales, parts, and unparalleled service to all our customers. We boast one of the largest inventories of modern lifting equipment in North America, in excess of 1000 units. With an increase in recent demand, we are in need of a Maintenance Director at our Houston / Baytown location.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate schedules and workflow of maintenance team. Regularly touch base regarding work progress, concerns, and questions.
Monitor workload and counsel employees about work-related issues as necessary.
Coordinate with and assist other departments as required.
Update relevant maintenance documentation in FCC to support the sites across Sterling USA.
Work with the cross functional team to develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation across Sterling Crane USA.
Coordinate, maintain, and manage the Preventive Maintenance program.
Ensure accurate fleet maintenance, repair and inspection records are maintained. See that all documentation is archived and audit ready. Provide fleet reports as requested by executive management.
Work with MCS purchasing to standardize purchasing suppliers: Contain maintenance and supply costs through procurement and inventory controls.
Enforce multi-shop compliance of OSHA, FMCSA, DOT, and other federal rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Develop KPI for monitoring effectiveness of maintenance program.
Evaluate/ implement various programs for monitoring fleet maintenance, costs and telematics.
Lead and manage a team of crane maintenance technicians
Assign tasks, monitor work performance, and provide training and development as needed.
Conduct regular team meetings to discuss maintenance schedules, issues and improvements.
Work with Maintenance Department / Management from other Companies within MCS as required.
Establish and monitor maintenance budget.
Additional duties and responsibilities as required.
Develop and maintain relationships with OEM service / parts departments.
Qualifications/Skills:
Minimum of 5 years of management experience over multiple maintenance facilities in different jurisdictions / states / countries.
Minimum of 5 years (crane and heavy lift industry) preferred.
Formal OEM training and/or education in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
Strong background and demonstrated knowledge of mechanical operations of cranes and Class A tractors and trailers.
Strong Background in various regulatory fields: FMCSA, OSHA, ASME, DOT
Demonstrated history of evaluating, developing and implementing maintenance programs.
Must be dependable and punctual in attendance with a good work ethic and interpersonal skills.
Above average communication skills: must be comfortable engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills.
Working Conditions:
This role may require working in various environments, including outdoor and indoor facilities at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
The position may involve physical activities such as lifting, climbing, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
This role may require up to 30% travel to different sites or facilities.
