The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activity within the Alabama facility, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards of safety and efficiency. This role requires effective hands-on leadership competencies, strong hands on mechanical and electrical maintenance skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and proficiency with complex problem solving. This position directly impacts overall organizational efficiency by ensuring maximum uptime and productivity.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage industrial equipment and facility maintenance function.
Play an active role in streamlining maintenance activities for the Alabama facility.
Supervise maintenance employees and organize work schedules.
Maintain facilities and industrial equipment, including PMs for all machines.
Maintain compliance with OSHA and environmental requirements.
Inspect machinery for needed repair and follow up on other maintenance repairs.
Oversight of the maintenance function for the Alabama facility.
Expected to travel 10% to visit facilities, customers, vendors and suppliers.
Perform additional projects, duties or assignments as directed by senior management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
College degree preferred or relevant experience required.
15 plus years of experience in industrial equipment and facility maintenance.
Knowledgeable in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and mechanical applications.
Familiar with OSHA Standards (machine guarding, cranes, fire prevention).
Ability to manage, direct, and motivate teams.
Ability to use strong decision making and problem-solving skills, logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solution, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Strong interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal), and leadership skills required to effectively communicate initiatives and drive key business initiatives through the leadership team, non-exempt populations, and cross functional teams.
The ability to adapt, learn and become proficient in multiple systems quickly.
Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and the ability to drive results.
Proficient in the use of basic statistics, other analytical tools and Microsoft Office suite.
Highly organized and detail-oriented with good time management skills.
Ability to operate on tight deadlines with multiple priorities that are subject to frequent change.
Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
Strong knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
