Position Description

This position is responsible for assuring smooth operation of the clinic patient flow. Employees serve as primary contacts for patients and are responsible for scheduling appointments, preparing necessary paperwork before the patient visits, receiving patients, and maintaining records. In addition, this position is responsible for processing charges for clinic services, filing insurance claims, responding to requests for information from patients and insurance companies and maintaining related information for the department. Employees may have cash handling responsibilities.

Major/Essential Functions

Answering calls for multiple divisions within the department.  Performs routine administrative support as needed.  Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.  Applicant needs to be fluent in English both orally and in written form.  Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. Organizational and time management skills are required with the ability to work with minimal supervision to meet accuracy standards and multiple calendar deadlines monthly.  Medical office experience both orally and in written form are also a plus.
