Position Title:           Admissions Coordinator, University Honors



Reports to:                  Chief Admissions and Engagement Officer, University Honors



Classification:           Exempt, full-time staff position



 


The University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for the position of Admissions Coordinator, University Honors.

The Division: The Division of Student Success at UT works to engage each student scholar’s experience by supporting their unique strengths and goals. It collaborates with UT faculty and staff to help each student scholar maximize their individual strengths and understand how their strengths contribute to their academic dreams, career paths, and personal well-being.



 



Position Summary: The Admissions Coordinator plays a key role in executing University Honors' recruitment strategy. This involves identifying and engaging potential students, recruiting high school seniors, and guiding them through the admissions process. The coordinator also represents University honors at UTK admission events. Additionally, this position is responsible for recruiting, training, and overseeing the Honors Ambassadors.



Position Responsibilities:



Honors & Scholars Admissions


·       Executes strategic recruiting plan to attract and yield high-achieving students to University Honors.


·       Reaches targeted students and families through high school visits, events in targeted cities, one-on-one visits, and virtual events.


·       Establishes specific strategies for recruiting underrepresented populations (i.e. first generation, economically or educationally disadvantaged)


·       Utilizes query functions in Enrollment Management software to identify prospects


·       Represents University Honors at enrollment management recruiting events (i.e. Big Orange Preview, New Vol Roll Call)


·       Organizes and oversees yield events


·       Collaborates on orientation events for confirmed Honors Scholars


·       Responsible for documenting activities in Slate and Salesforce.


·       Responsible for submitting accurate and complete travel reimbursements in a timely manner                                                                                                                        



Honors Ambassadors Program Selection and Supervision


·       Develops job descriptions


·       Interviews and selects ambassadors


·       Develops training, both initial and ongoing for honors ambassadors


·       Meets with Honors Ambassadors weekly in a formal setting (i.e. classroom)


·       Supervises ambassadors


·       Provides end-of-semester evaluations for all Honors Ambassadors


·       Monitors and approves payroll in a timely manner



Other Duties


·       Supports honors initiatives and collaborates with campus partners, specifically Enrollment Management and the Division of Student Success.


·       Other duties as assigned.

·       Ability to maintain professional interactions with team members and other stakeholders



Preferred Qualifications:


·       Knowledge of college recruiting process


·       Experience using Enrollment Management software (Slate)

Education/Experience:



 



Required:


·       Master’s Degree



Education/Experience Preferred:


·       Master's degree


·       One year experience working in higher education, k-12 education, or related field


·       Experience with admissions and recruitment



Salary:  Minimum salary 49k accompanied by a university benefits package.
