We are seeking a Program Manager to support the programmatic needs of Study Directors (SDs) and Principal Investigators (PIs) and to ensure the timely and appropriate completion of program deliverables. The Program Manager will collaborate with Project Managers, Business Development (BD), Finance, and Technical Staff to plan, schedule, and report on the technical performance of component projects and operations, working to ensure overall program success. The Program Manager will aim to optimize productivity, foster project success from inception to completion, and maintain a 3- to 5-year forecasting capability for all projects to ensure the availability of adequate staffing, facilities, equipment, resources (including NHPs), and processes.
The Role:
Develop, initiate and lead work projects for the development and implementation of process improvements, and policies and procedures that promote Texas Biomed's core values and align with strategic goals.
Coach, mentor, motivate and lead Texas Biomed employees influencing them to take positive action and be accountable for assigned responsibilities.
Support personal and career development opportunities and advancement.
Assist leaders in identifying opportunities to streamline, improve, and/or automate business processes while actively implementing changes as needed.
Maintain regular communication with leaders and reporting employees related to upcoming tasks and deadlines, and assist as needed.
Develop and manage program management process and staff for the institute, including planning and communications with other institute units involved with or affected by studies.
Manage scheduling, deliverable preparation, and performance to plan in support of SDs/PIs.
Interface with BD and Finance as integrated proposal development and program reporting team.
Manage scheduling for veterinary staff and technicians, including designing appropriate staffing program to support planned studies.
Develop necessary processes and procedures to deliver on study requirements (including regulated studies).
Interface with all enterprise quality functions (QA, QC, Doc Control) to support and ensure regulatory compliance on all projects.
Provide scheduling forecast to ensure appropriate staffing, equipment, facility, animal, and process availability to successfully complete projects to include the development and refining heuristics and mathematical models necessary for predicting and planning appropriate levels of staffing, equipment, facility, animal, and process availability.
Manage scientific, science-related or pre-clinical projects.
Manage relationships among diverse team members including veterinary technical staff, scientific support staff, quality personnel and financial support staff.
Contribute to the development of project associated documents including, study protocols, reports, and summaries.
Prepare monthly project reports summarizing project progress and status.
Contribute to and/or lead institute program management project tasks.
Ensure tasks or projects are maintained within scope, budget and schedule.
Development of synergistic processes between scientific units in order to increase overall team efficiency.
Participate in national and international conferences, workshops and training session to stay abreast of current practices, developments, and technologies in the field.
Participate in sponsor and regulatory agency teleconferences and site visits.
Interact and schedule veterinary, technical, regulatory compliance and scientific writing staff to facilitate timely and accurate project performance and reporting of data.
Communicate with government and commercial sponsors as required.
Interact with FDA and other government and commercial entities during audits as required.
May assist in entry of in vitro or in vivo data into databases or Excel.
Maintain a close working relationship with institutional leaders.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Master's Degree in Biological/Life Sciences or relevant field required. Doctoral Degree preferred.
Seven (7) years of demonstrated program management experience required.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
