Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time

Description:

Aquila's Fitness Specialist assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center.

The location for this position is in the Los Angeles 90012 zip code. This is a part-time, in-person position with 23 work hours per week. Candidates should be able to work Monday-Friday 12 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., or Monday-Friday 4 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The pay range is $28-$35/hour depending on experience and qualifications, plus company benefits. You may also be able to earn personal training commissions in addition to the hourly pay. There is no work on Fridays, or weekends. The start date for the position will be on January 2nd, 2025.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise exercise areas
  • Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
  • Teach group exercise classes
  • Conduct personal training sessions
  • Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
  • Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
  • Aid members - spotting and equipment usage
  • Explain all equipment
  • Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
  • Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
  • Adhere to client’s policies and procedures
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
  • Perform daily administrative duties

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or in related health/fitness field OR an active NCCA accredited national fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, NCSF, NSCA or other NCCA accredited certification)
  • Active CPR certification
  • 3+ year experience in supervising adults during exercises
