As the Science & Technology Associate Manager, Analytical Chemistry you will lead a variety of projects to deliver fundamental understanding on the characterization and performance of different products and materials in support of new product development efforts across multiple business divisions. You must have a strong sense of scientific curiosity and creative problem solving and will be responsible for developing and executing novel, unique methods to test, analyze, and improve the properties and performance of various consumer products. This is a hands-on laboratory role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develop and validate novel and unique methods of analysis, both qualitative and quantitative, to measure various performance attributes and characteristics of products and formulas.

  • Use sound, scientific experimentation practices and creative problem-solving techniques to support the testing and development and consumer products through analysis and interpretation of data.

  • Develop and communicate technical conclusions and recommendations to influence development teams and management.

  • Maintain concise and accurate records of laboratory experiments and other documentation to assure RD&E, Legal, and Corporate Compliance.

  • Follow general lab safety guidelines and maintain a clean, orderly work area.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING


  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or closely related science with at least 6 years of relevant work/RD&E experience OR Master's Degree in Chemistry or closely related science with at least 4 years of relevant work/RD&E experience.

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS


  • In-depth understanding of chemical principles, analytical chemistry, and statistical analysis of data.

  • Strong experimental skills in developing and executing novel methods of measurement.

  • Strong track record of scientific curiosity and creative problem solving against ambiguous problems.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write reports and recommendations based on experimental results and deliver formal presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels.

  • Consistent drive for skill development and personal growth, especially in broadening scientific areas of expertise.

  • Experience in data analysis, developing and using 'Design of Experiments' in experimental work and/or a strong background in statistical analysis of large data sets.

  • Experience in air or gas phase analysis through environmental chemistry or otherwise.

  • Proactive in taking action to meet challenging goals and business issues. Display of good judgement and timely decisions that keep projects and business initiatives moving forward.

  • Ability to relate well and openly to build productive relationships with a wide variety of people regardless of background and position, including senior management.

  • Consistent drive for skill development and personal growth.

JOB REQUIREMENTS


  • Position is Full-Time, usually regular business hours, Monday-Friday.

  • Must be flexible for calls/meetings across global time zones.

  • Lab work environment: Remote work available once a week for eligible employees.

  • This role is eligible for domestic relocation.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
