The Optical Security and Performance Products (OSP) business segment of VIAVI leverages its core technology strengths of optics, vacuum coatings, and materials science to deliver innovative and differentiated technologies that manipulate light to improve the performance of sensors, to shape light from high performance light sources, and to create unique visual effects. Duties & Responsibilities:

The Security Product Line Manager (PLM) will serve as a lead product manager for VIAVI’s security pigment products that include Optically Variable Pigment (OVP), Optically Variable Magnetic Pigment (OVMP), and Charms that enable overt authentication to protect banknotes and other documents of value against counterfeiting. Additionally, this product manager may support development and commercialization efforts for other products and applications that leverage VIAVI’s proprietary vacuum deposition capabilities. This role is focused on technical product management and the ideal candidate will be skilled in translating technology features into business value. This is a great opportunity for someone to come in and quickly prove their leadership capabilities and become an important contributor in the strategic growth of this organization. The position reports to VIAVI OSP’s Vice President of Strategy and Business Development.

Responsibilities:


  • Create a multi-year product roadmap with strategic focus on delivering product line growth and profitability

  • Develop quantitative and qualitative analyses for the development of new capabilities to support growth in new, emerging, strategic and/or high growth markets

  • Understand market trends, customer needs and competition as well as VIAVI’s internal capabilities and communicate those learnings to key stakeholders

  • Collaborate with VIAVI external and internal stakeholders to ensure VIAVI OSP’s capabilities and product offerings are aligned with customers’ requirements

  • Collaborate with VIAVI commercial team to deliver to quarterly and annual revenue expectations while analyzing pricing, forecasting, strategy and competitors to achieve maximum profitability and customer satisfaction

  • Partner with internal teams, including Engineering, R&D, Quality, Sales, Manufacturing and Finance as required

  • Support the development and execution of VIAVI OSP’s inorganic growth strategy

  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to develop a regulatory map identifying key opportunities and challenges for our products

  • Partner with VIAVI technical team to determine VIAVI IP strategy and serve as lead IP interface with commercial counterparts

  • Collaborate with VIAVI technical team to leverage existing capabilities for new applications and to understand what new capabilities to develop to enable future growth

  • Travel 20-40% for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships; much of the travel will be international

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Background/Experience:


  • 5+ years of global strategic business development or product management experience in security markets and/or optical devices and systems

  • Must have strong communication, analytical and financial skills and experience with pricing, product, market and competitor analysis

  • Adept aligning cross-functional teams to execute on growth commitments

  • Excellent written as well as presentation skills

  • Proven experience in executing strategy, driving change, and taking measured risk

  • U.S Citizenship or Permanent Resident status

  • Ideally based in Santa Rosa, California or Chandler, Arizona. Will consider remote work with commitment to engage internal VIAVI teams as appropriate.

120,400

to

223,600
