The Materials Planner is responsible for the coordination of the Bill of Materials (BOM) management process, costing and route time planning, and partnering with production and supply chain for effective materials planning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS
Responsible for the coordination of the Bill of Materials (BOM) management process
Create and maintain accurate Bill of Materials for assigned products
Collaborate with engineering to ensure that BOMs reflect current product designs
Update BOMs to reflect changes in design, materials, or suppliers
Conduct regular BOM audits to identify and resolve discrepancies
Ensure BOM accuracy in MRP system
Coordinates costing and route time planning
Work with production and procurement/supply chain team to ensure materials are available for manufacturing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION and EDUCATION
Bachelors degree, or comparable experience in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field
3+ years of experience in BOM management
APICS certification and/ or American Purchasing Society certification preferred
Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
Proficiency in BOM Management software and ERP systems
Excellence analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
Competent in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to read blueprints
Knowledge/experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX
PHYSICAL EFFORT
Ability to sit, stand, walk intermittently for 8 hours.
