We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer who will be responsible for all aspects of development with an agile team focus who will leverage new technologies to continue enhancing our new modernized Enterprise Tax Application to meet current and future business needs. Our teams are passionate about constantly improving the quality of our applications and store business processes. In this position, you will work on a cross-functional team of full-stack engineers sharing responsibility for all areas of development. Responsibilities include system analysis, requirements gathering, project leadership, and building relationships with our business partners and external vendors. The most suitable hire for this position will be a highly motivated candidate passionate about learning new technologies and adapting the latest features within the core development languages. They should also be adept with problem-solving, mentoring, writing, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, technology vendors, and business partners.

Responsibilities


  • Participate and lead in architecture and design discussions with cross-functional team members.

  • Through Agile development practices, you will drive continual delivery of improvements to applications and technology.

  • Work closely with the Product Owner and IT management – assisting Agile team members with day-to-day direction and clarification of requirements.

  • Create design artifacts such as user stories, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to convey product workflow architecture and user experiences to stakeholders.

  • Provide support and subject matter expertise on business rules and processes to technical lead, test lead and other team members during all phases of projects.

  • Collaborate with Agile team(s) to ensure requirements, design, and desired outcomes are clearly communicated.

  • Attend and sometimes lead Agile events (daily stand-up, iteration planning, backlog refinement, iteration review and sprint retrospectives)

  • Work in the development of project plans, management of projects, monitoring project performance, and development of implementation plans.

  • Provide afterhours support of the application once in the production environment.


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other technical discipline or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years of experience with .NET and C# development

  • 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting customer-facing APIs.

  • 3+ years of experience in data storage technologies such as SQL, Dapper, and Entity Framework

  • 2+ years of experience using messaging tools such as KAFKA.

  • 3+ years of experience building responsive web applications using UI frameworks such as React or Angular

  • 5+ years of experience with source control systems using GIT and Microsoft Azure DevOps, Azure AD, and Azure Storage

  • Experience using observability platforms, including Splunk, Dynatrace, and Grafana

  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD), NuGet package management, TFS/Git code management, DevOps Integration, DevOps Pipelines, or other CI/CD tools.

  • Experience implementing software using Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, or other containerization technologies.



  • 9+ years of experience with .NET and C# development

  • Continued education and certifications in various technical discipline

  • 9+ years of experience working in an Agile environment.

  • 9+ years of experience building highly scalable systems and performance tuning them.

  • 3+ years of experience with MIRO whiteboarding​​​​​​
