This position will perform research in Protein Biochemistry and Structural Biology. This position will be responsible for recombinant protein production in both prokaryote and eukaryote systems, developing and executing biochemical and biophysical assays to identify and characterize protein ligands; responsible for protein structure determination using protein crystallography and cryo-EM; reports progress to immediate supervisor and for keeping records of experiments, results and analysis in the laboratory notebook.
PhD in Biological Sciences, or closely related field.
This position requires proficiency in:
- Molecular biology, high-throughput cloning and protein production using bacterial and eukaryotic host cells, including baculovirus-infected insect cells.
- Operating equipment for protein purification, including high-speed centrifuges and FPLC.
- Developing and executing biochemical assays, including techniques such as fluorescence polarization, TR-FRET, FRET and BRET.
- Biophysical assays, such as ITC and SPR.
This position requires proficiency in:
