Job Description
The Imaging Informatics Department is responsible for assuring that the clinical diagnostic and research images and its reporting systems that are used throughout the enterprise are safe and effective. This includes all aspects of training, acquisition, implementation, maintenance of imaging systems. The staff of Imaging Informatics works with multiple hospital and university departments, Clinical Engineering, Information Technology and hospital staff to ensure the integrity of the imaging systems. Imaging Informatics staff is involved in the ongoing task of evaluating and optimizing the current workflow and application capability to maximize the use of the available technologies.
An Imaging Informatics Specialist works with the other members of the Imaging Informatics team to ensure maintenance and integrity of Clinical Imaging Systems. Managing incoming calls to the Support Center is a major portion of the duties required by this position. Acts as a technical resource with knowledge and computer experience to coordinate and provide support for all new and current applications and software upgrades applicable to the clinical systems. Assist with phone support for customer hardware issues related to PC workstations. Compliance of departmental policies is expected. Assists in the testing and implementation of clinical information systems and solutions. Documenting support issues through electronic ticket systems to identify trends and provide solutions. Supports managing release of imaging records to clinical staff and departments, internal and external to the Medical Center. Duties also include managing faxes, media, and email requests for records processing. Position is onsite.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or relevant technical or healthcare experience. Help desk experience is desired.
