This is a research technician position in the Thaxton lab at UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. The primary purpose of this position is to assist with daily laboratory operations to facilitate work within our translational research group. Duties include preparation of media, preparation and aliquoting of stock solutions, maintenance of general lab cleanliness and organization, mouse colony maintenance, and processing of samples obtained from the Tissue Procurement Facility (TPF) along with routine record keeping of associated data.
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Experience in a clinical or research setting; knowledge in chemistry, biology, or other natural, life or health care science. Candidate should have the ability to work with animals.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software. Previous laboratory experience preferred. Collaborative work ethic, attention to detail, and effective communication skills highly desired.
Ability to, with or without accommodations: perform repetitive motions when pipetting liquids or performing sample dilutions; move materials up to 30 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
