The primary purpose of this position is to perform a wide range of purchasing, disbursement, accounting and reporting responsibilities in support of the Finance unit and the faculty, staff and students of the School of Law. The person in this position assists faculty, staff, and students of the Law School with vouchers, purchasing, travel advances and reimbursements, deposits, independent contractor requests, supplier management needs, journals, and a variety of related business, accounting, and budget matters within all divisions of the Law School. This position will work closely with assigned departments to provide client focused support and solutions to achieve department's overall missions while complying with University and state finance policies.
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- General knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Excellent organizational skills, the ability to multi-task as well as be flexible.
- Ability to effectively problem solve .
- Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
-Experience with Peoplesoft/ConnectCarolina.
-Finance Workcenter, Concur, Infoporte, BOA Works, PaymentWorks, GradStar, and other relevant UNC systems; Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
