Job Title:Research ScientistDepartment:Arts and Sciences | Psychology

The Clinical Neuroscience Lab at The Ohio State University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join our dynamic team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in clinical neuroscience and to play a key role in the leadership and management of the lab.



The Research Scientist will lead and conduct original research in clinical neuroscience, with a focus on mind-body interventions; write and publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals; supervise the development and completion of research papers by graduate students; oversee existing studies in the lab, ensuring scientific rigor and compliance with all relevant regulations; collaborate with the Lab Director on grant writing and securing funding for ongoing and new research projects; serve as principal investigator on externally funded research projects; mentor graduate students, providing guidance on research design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation; facilitate professional development opportunities for students, including conference presentations and networking; foster a collaborative and supportive research environment, promoting a culture of academic excellence and innovation; manage the recruitment, hiring, and training of research staff; approve and coordinate conference travel and other professional development activities for lab members; oversee day-to-day lab operations, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to safety protocols; work closely with the Lab Director to develop and execute strategic plans for the lab. This position is for one year and is renewalable based upon satisfactory performance and availability of funds.




Required Education:


Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, or a related field.




Qualifications:



Required: Extensive research experience in clinical neuroscience, with a strong publication record. Proven track record in grant writing. Experience in mentoring and supervising graduate students. Experience in lab coordination and staff supervision.



Desired: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Additional Information:

The pay range for this job profile is $65,000 - $70,000. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
