Job Title:DietitianDepartment:Student Life | Dining Services

The Dietitian serves primarily as a member of the Dining Services Administrative team, along with serving the students in the Wilce Student Health Center. Responsible for nutritional information and ingredients of all operational units, including Catering, Quick Service, Fast Casual, Full Service, and All You Care to Eat Tradition restaurants, in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Nutrition. Assists with nutritional aspects of all recipe development to enhance nutritional values and create a balanced menu offering and is responsible for managing and coordinating the nutritional databases (Jamix, GrubHub, Nutrislice) to ensure all the published information is accurate and according to the guidelines of regulatory agencies; plans, evaluates, and helps with the implementation of the programs and services that meet the nutritional needs of the students, faculty/staff and campus community. Collaborates with a team of health care professionals and support staff to provide medical nutrition therapy and education to The Ohio State University students at the Wilce Student Health Center. Assesses nutrition needs; develops a medical nutrition plan in support of clinician treatment plan; monitors adherence and response to plan; implements appropriate interventional strategies to improve the nutritional outcome of patients who require nutrition intervention. Assesses general needs, background, and resources to develop goals. Facilitates behavioral change to prevent disease or restore health through education, counseling, and skill development; promotes attitudes conducive to weight management and eating a healthy diet. Pursues new medical and research findings concerning food and nutrition to educate patients and healthcare professionals.





Qualifications



Required: Bachelors degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience; registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Dietitian, experience in a food service environment; experience providing Medical Nutrition Therapy (includes assessment, treatment, evaluation). License to practice in the state of Ohio. Successful completion of a background check and health screening.




Desired: Master's Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition; foodservice experience, proficiency in Excel and foodservice software programs, experience working in higher education; experience working in an ambulatory care setting with a college-aged population; knowledge of CPT coding for medical nutrition visits; current BLS-HCW certificate or the ability to obtain prior to start date.

Additional Information:

The target hiring range for this position is $25.77 - $32.21.
