Lead the development of new adhesive, sealant, coating, and foam products by creating development strategies, setting experimental plans, and overseeing their execution in collaboration with the engineering team.
Translate customer requirements and market insights into actionable product specifications and features.
Develop a thorough understanding of products and applications to guide the team and support project work.
Participate in trade shows and industry technical meetings to track technology trends, drive innovation, and ensure compliance.
Regularly review projects to address challenges and meet deadlines while maintaining project quality.
Foster continuous improvement and champion the use of Lean tools for consistent quality.
Provide engineering support and direction to Manufacturing on production issues and equipment layout.
Establish and maintain rigorous quality control measures, including testing protocols and corrective actions.
Serve as a technical resource for external code and approval authorities.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Polymer, or Material Science (Master's or Ph.D. preferred).
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Collaborative, proactive, and action-oriented team player.
Successful track record of cross-functional collaboration in product development.
Product design experience, preferably related to construction applications (knowledge of polyurethane adhesive or coating is helpful).
Positive attitude and sound judgment.
Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in high-noise areas with appropriate hearing protection.
Skill in operating a motor vehicle while maintaining safe driving practices and avoiding distractions, especially cell phones.
Physical capabilities include walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, using hands to handle objects, reaching, climbing, and occasionally lifting/pushing/pulling up to 25 pounds.
