Seasonal Travel Customer Service Specialist



AAA Washington - Southcenter



Become a brand ambassador for the travel industry! This is a seasonal position with a 6-9 month work assignment.

This role is responsible for helping members and the public with their purchases at a AAA Washington store. As a brand ambassador for AAA Washington, responsible for elevating customer experiences and cross-selling products and services.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Provide a personalized experience greeting customers, identifying their needs, and uncovering opportunities for referrals to Travel Advisors or Insurance Agents.

Handle customer needs or troubleshoot to connect member with the right expert for resolution.

Responsible for recommending and selling product enhancements for the customer's trip including such items as: the AAA Member Rewards credit card, foreign currency, travel store merchandise, international driving permits and passport photos.

Meet expectations in the sale of travel store merchandise, membership, attraction tickets and financial products.

Facilitate the processing and education of international driving permits and any applicable regulations. Process passport photo for clients as requested.

Act as a subject matter expert for AAA membership, positioning the value/benefits to close new sales or to enhance current memberships.

Servicing member road travel with TripTiks and maps.

Responsible for utilizing a POS system and accurately processing transactions.

Accurately process and troubleshoot daily transaction reconciliation across multiple systems.

Contribute to setup and registration for on-site presentations or events.

Responsible for presentation of sales floor, restocking inventory and maintaining publications.

Contributes to a positive team dynamic through respectful interactions, positive contributions, and active collaboration to achieve department and organizational goals.

Incorporates AAA's vision, mission and values in day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to AAA's vision mission and values.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED

1+ years in customer service or sales role


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate or bachelor's degree

Prior experience working in a club or membership-based organization


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Skilled in establishing rapport, gaining the trust of others and ability to maintain cooperative working relationships.

Able to model a high standard of quality and commitment to serving the public and able to anticipate, monitor and meet the needs of members.

Ability to respond with empathy in an appropriate manner, exhibiting patience and compassion during times of stress.

Ability to adjust style and approach to suit situations that involve rapidly changing tasks, shifting priorities, and simultaneous demands.

Skilled in working independently, prioritizing and following through on assignments with minimal direction.

Skilled in using MS Office Platform, troubleshooting and navigating technologies/programs

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong documentation and accuracy skills, ability to notice discrepancies and inconsistencies in available information.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring member satisfaction.


WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical environment is typical of a standard office space. It requires the employee to work inside for the duration of work. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting for more than 50% of the time. This position will require occasionally moving about inside the office to access equipment, cabinets, etc. May work around office equipment which could be noisy, such as copiers and fax machines.

SALARY:

Hourly rate for this position is $20.63 per hour.
