Under general supervision reporting to the Director of the Teaching and Learning Excellence Center (TLEC), the Learning and Development Coordinator supports the planning and implementation of university-wide educational development programs and services that align with the mission of the University and the institutional strategic goals, with an emphasis on faculty and instructional support.
This is a Grant Funded position.
Essential Duties Summary:
In conjunction with TLEC Director, consults with the Provost's Office, colleges, departments, and other units (ex., TSU Online) to achieve institutional strategic plan goals related to teaching and learning through faculty, instructional, and program development.
Supports innovative course design, the use of High-Impact Practices, and other initiatives to support and advance strategic plan goals to enhance the teaching pedagogies of faculty.
Collaborates with Colleges, Schools, Departments, and other academic units to identify and address teaching and learning needs and opportunities as well as assist faculty to develop sound practice in their understanding and implementation of sound teaching-learning outcomes.
Supports the adoption and use of evidence-based instructional strategies, educational technologies, and active learning spaces to enhance instruction, including management of specialized classrooms and implementation of faculty mini-grant programs that promote collaboration.
Coordinates the assessment of Center activities, demonstrating impact internally and externally, via web presence, email, social media, and presentations to TSU Board of Regents and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board; implements a continuous improvement process in partnership with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.
Supports the procurement of funds through external grant submission and management.
Supports the selection and management of TLEC Fellows to enhance the teaching and learning goals within their college and school.
Assists in drafting policies and procedures related to teaching pedagogy.
Supports TSU through institutional service on committees etc. related to teaching and learning; promotes TSU as an institution that prioritizes teaching excellence and student success through hosting regional events, partnering with regional institutions, and participating in the national educational development dialogue.
Assists with marketing of professional development training opportunities.
Assists with content management of the Center's website.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education:
Master's Degree.
Doctorate degree or completed coursework preferred.

Work Experience:
Two (2) years of work-related experience. Experience working in a higher education institution. Experience with designing instructional methodology and learning pedagogy. Experience with learning management systems such as Blackboard.

Some stooping, lifting, or carrying objects light weight may be required.
