Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:

Under general supervision is responsible for supporting and advancing the mission and goals of the university and the college/school in all academic, scholarly and student support activities. The Assistant /Associate Professor typically teaches at the professional, graduate, and undergraduate level, develops curriculum and course content, engages in scholarly activities, supervises, and advises students, assumes departmental and college committee responsibilities, and participates in college/school activities for the advancement of organizational goals and student success.


Essential Duties Summary:



  • Supports and advances the mission and goals of the university and the college/school in all academic and scholarly activities.

  • Teaches courses at the undergraduate, professional PharmD and graduate levels.

  • Engage in scholarly research activities such as grant proposal, peer review publications, scientific meeting abstracts etc.

  • Participate in professional activities, including internal and external conferences, seminars, review panels etc.

  • Engage in professional community services that benefit the university.

  • Participates in college/school activities requiring faculty presence.

  • Serve on college, school, and/or university committees.

  • Performs other job-related duties within the range of skills normally associated with a position of this classification in an evolving teaching and learning environment.

Hiring Range:

$73,762.00 - $95,890.00


Education:

Doctorate degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a basic science/health-related field from an accredited school at the time of appointment. Post-doctoral experience preferred.

Knowledge of:

  • Must have knowledge in the areas of teaching

  • Peer reviewed publication in required field.

  • Sets the standard for principles, methods and procedures in an area and determines long-term direction under his/her guidance. May involve a level of expertise that is recognized both internally and nationally as top notch in the field.

  • Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.

Work Experience:



  • Previous teaching experience in a university setting appropriate to the rank assignment.

  • The successful candidates will have a distinguished record of scholarly achievement, extramural funding, and student mentoring experience consistent with the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

  • Post Candidates with established research in areas that synergize with current faculty are encouraged to apply.

Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements. Position requires occasional or frequent moderate physical activity.
