The Theatre Arts and Dance Department at the University of Texas at Arlington seeks a tenure-track professor in Theatre Arts and Dance. The successful candidate will be an artist-scholar with experience and/or desire to teach courses in theatre studies, performance studies, and applied theatre. These could include core Theatre majors' classes like Script Analysis, Acting, or Directing, and courses in the candidate's area of praxis such as Autoethnography; Performance Devising; Performance Theory; Dramaturgy; Theatre for Social Justice; Theatre and Disability Studies; Theatre and d/Deaf Studies. This colleague will also maintain an active research practice in scholarship and/or creative activity related to performance studies or cognate areas. The College of Liberal Arts contains 12 departments with wide opportunity for intra-College collaboration. Of potential interest to performance studies artist-scholars are our programs in Modern Languages/TESOL, History; English, Anthropology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Philosophy; and our minors in Deaf Studies and ASL, Disability Studies; and Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies. Required: PhD in Performance Studies, Theatre, Dance, or Related Field. ABD considered with scheduled dissertation defense with PhD in hand before September 1, 2025.
