Colby College is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a 2 year term role of Workday Student System Analyst within the Information Technology Services department. As the Workday Student System Analyst, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day technical management of the Workday Student System, ensuring its optimal performance and alignment with the college's goals and objectives. This position offers the opportunity to be a lead technical expert within the ITS team, collaborating closely with various stakeholders to configure, maintain, and optimize the Workday Student System.
Responsibilities:
Lead design, implementation, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of the Workday Student System, including business process configuration, reporting, and system integrations.
Cross train team members in advanced report development, business process configuration, and integrations using Workday tools.
Collaborate with the Integrations lead on Workday Student specific integrations, ensuring seamless functionality across systems.
Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements, ensuring data integrity and secure end-user access across the Workday platform, while also identifying opportunities for process optimization and technical stability, making operational and strategic recommendations as applicable, and leading associated implementation efforts.
Serve as the Workday Student subject matter expert, providing technical support for production issues, researching and resolving technical problems, and recommending solutions to meet requirements.
Develop, test, and maintain integrations with external vendors and internal applications, either independently or by cross-training team members.
Represent Workday Student on the Data Governance Council and Workday Operations, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
Stay informed on Workday system enhancements and changes, leading deployment activities, regression testing, and validation to ensure overall system performance and stability.
Partner with the team to create, validate, and execute test scenarios for configuration changes, ensuring all business processes are fully tested and meet requirements, as well as executing test plans during formal test periods for every Workday update, including writing test scripts and building regression and acceptance test scenarios.
Develop advanced calculated fields and conditional logic in reports and business processes to provide customized reports and maintain data integrity.
Assist staff with technical issues related to the use of the Workday Student system.
Collaborate with business process administrators and technical support staff to maintain data quality standards.
Stay updated on new release functionality within the Workday Community, coordinating with other business units to implement necessary changes, and analyzing and managing Workday releases, including configuring, testing, and deploying updates, while troubleshooting system problems and implementing solutions.
Create custom reports and dashboards to meet organizational needs.
Participate in the design, configuration, and testing of integrations between Workday and external systems.
Support change management processes during upgrades and implementation of new functionality, and assist with critical system maintenance and daily operational tasks within Workday.
Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Over 5 years of hands-on experience working within the Workday ecosystem, specifically in the implementation of Workday Student, demonstrating proficiency in configuring business processes and generating reports.
Proficiency in fostering strong, trusted relationships with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, focused on delivering courteous and efficient support to faculty, staff, and students utilizing the Workday Student platform.
Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams, including IT personnel, academic administrators, and end-users, to address intricate system challenges and implement enhancements in alignment with Colby College's strategic objectives.
Thorough documentation skills, ensuring comprehensive records of support cases, including detailed troubleshooting steps, to maintain an updated knowledge base for training and reference purposes.
Meticulous involvement in testing procedures to uphold the integrity and functionality of the Workday Student system post-updates, upgrades, or customizations, while adhering to Colby College's data accuracy and security standards.
Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities.
Proven track record of managing complex issues within a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
Effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing demands, and uphold service level agreements to ensure timely resolution of support requests and sustained system availability for Colby College stakeholders.
Familiarity with the Workday Extend Platform for developing custom solutions within the Workday Student environment.
Understanding of student information systems' operational practices.
Experience in concurrently managing multiple projects.
