Lead and manage Austal USA grant application process, ensuring all required materials are submitted accurately and on time.
Develop and execute a process to identify grant opportunities and prepare required proposals to obtain those grants.
Maintain strong working relationships with government grant program officers and agencies.
Stay up-to-date on the latest grant programs, funding priorities, and government regulations.
Conduct in-depth research to identify and qualify for potential federal, state, and local government grant opportunities aligned with Austal USA's objectives.
Research and analyze grant opportunities and make recommendations on their feasibility.
Develop persuasive and comprehensive grant proposals that clearly articulate the need, value proposition, and impact of Austal USA's projects.
Plan, prepare and write grant proposals for all Austal USA locations to include Alabama, California and Virginia.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments to gather necessary information and data for proposals.
Track the progress of submitted proposals and proactively manage communication with grantors.
Develop and maintain a grant management log for funded grants that includes report due dates, budget adherence, and any other grant requirements.
Interpret and follow sponsor regulations, requirements, guidelines and instructions.
Support BD & EA team with community events to include attending local and state events as required.
Support BD & EA team in lobbying and communications function.
Required QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
Proven record of identifying and winning grants.
Knowledge of funding sources, compliance issues, and legal and fiscal policies of funding sources and appropriate government agencies.
Ability to read, comprehend, interpret and apply governmental regulations and grant guidelines.
Strong research and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; degree / experience in Public Policy, Business, Communications, Marketing or related field preferred.
