Job Summary

This part-time Intern role will act as a contributor in one or more areas of expertise in collaboration with various cross-functional project teams. You will exercise (and improve) any basic Android engineering skills and methodology, and apply long-term objectives and plans related to the Company's (and its products) technical vision to daily activity. You will also learn how to apply innovative solutions for engineering developmental problems that are competitive with industry and company standards. As a Jr Android developer you will lead teams and projects.
You will be assigned to projects that consist in multiple authentication and security-related Android frameworks to be developed, maintained and integrated into a separate Android application as well as maintaining existing/deployed applications that are already being used by thousands of customers.

Job Description

What you will do


  • Use Android engineering skills and knowledge to solve complex development problems and achieve engineering goals

  • Interact with multiple cross-functional teams (UX, Backend, DevOps, QA, and other application teams and developers) in order to achieve goals

  • Work with a Scrum and Agile oriented team

  • Collaborate into developing and polishing security-related Android frameworks, libraries, and applications that will be used by millions of customers

  • Analyze code bases from other teams, understand their architecture and integrate new code following the existing principles

  • Learn the team practices and have constan sessions with mentors on how to improve your engineering skills.

What you should possess


  • Excellent communication skills

  • Possess the ability to grasp new technologies, concepts, and abstractions and apply them in a meaningful way

  • Basic experience in Kotlin for Android development

  • Basic understanding of Android push notifications and interacting with FCM and SNS

  • Basic experience with Git

  • Basic understanding of how an API works, how to test it and how to report a problem in it to the backend team

  • Basic experience in identifying and troubleshooting Android bugs and crashes

  • Basic design and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to explain a problem and provide a potential solution

  • Adaptable, proactive and driven to take ownership

  • Keen attention to detail and high level of commitment

What we require


  • Prior Comcast experience required.

  • At least three months of hands on experience with Android development in a corporate setting required.

Salary:

Base Pay: $32.00
