The College of Arts and Sciences Office of Communications and Marketing is looking for interns to serve as part of a communications team. We seek self-motivated students to help promote the value of the College's arts and sciences education to prospective and current students by sharing stories about the student experience, academic programs, research, and a wide variety of opportunities and events.
Job Summary
Interns will have the opportunity to practice and gain experience in a broad range of communications office work.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Prepares news and feature writing
Performs research and content development
Creates social media writings and designs
Collaborates in multimedia production
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
SKILLS
Required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to think creatively to solve problems and generate ideas
Ability to work in a collaborative environment
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Demonstrates interest in multimedia production, including photography, film, and editing
Demonstrates interest and willingness to develop skills
Preferred
Demonstrates photography skills
Familiarity with InDesign, Photoshop or Canva
Demonstrates social media literacy
Strong copy-editing skills
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
