The Montrose Environmental Solutions (MES) team delivers solutions for complex environmental challenges using our regulatory expertise and implementing practical and cost-effective compliance management processes and programs. We specialize in addressing our clients' major concerns related to regulatory compliance, permitting, auditing, eco-services, assessment, remediation, emergency response, waste management, and legal enforcement. Our team consists of highly trained and experienced engineers, scientists, environmental and remediation specialists, geologists, hydrogeologists, chemists, biologists, and environmental compliance specialists working with public and private sector clients, providing comprehensive solutions. We also offer world-class advisory and specialty services. Our experts take a strategic approach to address broader environmental goals, including sustainability program development, data-driven decision-making using economics and ecology expertise, data management and validation, software strategy and implementation support, chemistry quality assurance, and Environment, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) auditing.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
This is a REMOTE position open to candidates throughout the Eastern U.S., with preference given to candidates who reside in and/or have significant experience in executing projects in Northern Appalachia.
As an essential member of our team, you will drive impactful initiatives in greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory, monitoring, reporting, verification (MRV), and assurance work for oil and gas companies. You'll play a key role in developing and reporting on ESG strategies, delivering independent third-party verification services, and providing specialized support on client accreditation, reduction, and quantification projects. Successful candidates will pair technical savvy related to data management and project implementation, with expertise in carbon auditing and accounting, and the ability to think creatively, strategically, and critically to successfully support multiple projects simultaneously.
You will be responsible for supporting a variety of our ongoing GHG, MRV, and accreditation projects including but not limited to the following:
Natural gas accreditation/certification efforts including but not limited to the MiQ and Equitable Origin (EO100) standards
The application of various GHG and Methane-specific protocols and MRV reconciliation and data analysis
Regulatory applicability analyses include state, local, and federal regulations
Independent third-party auditing
Project management
Additional responsibilities may include:
Development and integration of tools and software to meet client expectations
Integration with partner software platforms to support client information and data transfer
Incentives and grant research
Working with colleagues to achieve specific project outcomes.
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

Requirements:
B.S. or above in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Public Policy, Planning, Engineering, or related discipline
8-12 years of experience in oil and gas operations, GHG consulting, MRV and auditing
Effective personal time management skills for handling multiple projects
Ability to establish and maintain long-term working relationships with clients and co-workers
This role may require field work that can include climbing staircases, walking or working on uneven surfaces, and the ability to lift light loads
Experience working at upstream, midstream and/or downstream O&G facilities
OSHA 40 hr HAZWOPER is useful industry training credentials
Ability and flexibility to travel (about 5-10%)
