Summary: The lab of Dr. Jason Kirk in the department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics is in search of a candidate to support basic and translational research in the field of prostate cancer. The labs focus is on understanding the basic mechanisms of prostate cancer castration resistance and identification of novel therapeutic strategies to overcome said resistance. Understanding of resistance mechanisms is determined through mouse modeling and analysis of clinically relevant samples when appropriate. The successful candidate will have clear communication skills, a willingness to learn, and good time management skills. In addition to general lab duties, it is expected that the successful candidate will help in administrative support and record keeping for the lab.
Salary range is $48,515 - $61,525 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Qualifications:Required Education and Experience
1. Master's degree in a clinical or scientific discipline; or
2. Bachelor's degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in a laboratory setting.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will have good organizational and record keeping skills; a willingness to learn; proficiency in Microsoft Office; the ability to analyze and interpret data; have experience with general lab techniques, including IHC, Western Blotting, QRT-PCR, and mammalian cell culture and experience with mouse husbandry and handling.
